Morgan 2009 Cotes Du Crow

Grape(s): Syrah & Grenache

Winery: Morgan

Region: Monterey County

Year: 2009

Special Designation: Cotes Du Crow

Price: 15-20

Review:

Inviting aromas of cherry and plum are rounded out by notes of pepper and sweet spice. Red berry flavors dominate the palate with accents of pepper, all-spice, and a hint of game. A wine where the fruit is balanced nicely by notes of spice, it may have lighter-body but there is still plenty of flavor.

Rating: 90

Character: lighter mouthfeel, red fruit, light tannins

Farming Certification: (none)

We had this wine several times at a restaurant while on vacation in Arizona. I can’t seem to find it here in Maryland. What a shame – this was a great wine.
