Paso Robles Wine Country Gifts More than $126,000 to Local Community

December 8, 2011 No Comments

The Paso Robles wine industry came together in 2011, raising a record amount of dollars during the Wine Country Auctions featured at Zinfandel Festival and Wine Festival. The Zin Tasting & Wine Country Auction showcased “bottles, bottles and more bottles” for enthusiastic wine collectors. The Wine Country Auction & Dinner hosted 271 guests for an evening of Paso Robles hospitality and incredible lifestyle and wine centric auction lots. As a result, Paso Robles Wine Country increased its 2011 contribution by 15 percent, gifting $80,000 of cash donations to 13 local charities who support healthcare, education and greater community services. Additionally, the Alliance supported San Luis Obispo County groups through in-kind services with a value of more than $46,000. The Alliance is proud to partner with the wine community to make this significant contribution.

Giving back would not be possible without the partnership of our members who donate one-of-a-kind items to the Auction,” said Paul Hoover, board treasurer of the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance and owner of Still Waters Vineyards. “Over the past six years, and together with our members, the Alliance has contributed over $250,000 in monetary donations to local organizations. A special thank you to those attendees who purchase these unique auction items in support of the Alliance’s gifting platform.”
